"Graffiti connection", "Graffiti writer", KOOR, the spray-paint artist, is one of the most interesting representatives of "Tag art" in his generation. He handles the aerosol spray with eloquence and spreads shrill colours in tones of fluorescent pink, gold and red to create futuristic landscapes which are neither figurative nor abstract. Using the language of writing in his drawings, KOOR paints his interpretation of the present, the past and the future, by integrating travellers in space into these images and his own calligraphy to project multi-dimensional images.
Street art: a marginal culture that is earning a prestigious image and recognition as Graffiti Art. The 1980s was a decade seeking an original artistic movement; hence the arrival of Graffiti Art in the modern art museums of this period. The galleries were attracted by this new energy from the street, realising that "graffiti artists" represent the dominant face of urban art ...
Fine Art Studio presents the recent works of Chuck "KOOR" Hargrove, coming from the post-Graffiti sphere of influence revealed in Brussels by Maurice Keitelman. This exhibition is organised in collaboration with Galerie Keitelman which will be presenting its expo-event "NEW YORK GRAFFITI - A retrospective, Koor, Stan, Lady Pink, A-One, Toxic, Duster, Basquiat, Keith Haring & Crash" at rue de la Paille 9, during the same period.
